The History Group arranges monthly talks and occasional visits, sharing members' interests and knowledge, extended and enriched by external speakers. The group meets at 2.30pm on the first Thursday of the month at the Ely Methodist Church, 13-15 Chapel St, Ely. There is a free car park (maximum 2 hours) in St Marys Street (postcode CB7 4ES), from which there is access to the church, unlocked during meetings. See Dates for your Diary below for details of the meetings.

Since March 2020, the History Group has been publishing a newsletter IN TIME edited by Maggie Haverson, which can be found through the link 'Access to all editions of IN TIME' on this page, along with indexes by edition, author and subject. If you want to contact the editor, use the message button on this page.

The Family History Group meets on prearranged days to use the computers at Ely Library to pursue family histories together, with guidance from more experienced members. Ian Forrest is the coordinator. The group size is limited by the number of computers at the library.

The Writing Up Your Family History is a group coordinated by Kate Cann, to help people who have researched their family's history and now need to write it up. They meet at Ely Library.
