Many people are very curious to learn what life was like in the past. We may be curious about what our ancestors had to overcome to survive, or how past events have influenced our lives today. Delving into the past holds a fascination for many, as the more we look into it the more we realise its relevance to modern life, and that there are so many facets to history, from very ancient to modern, and in the changes in society wrought by war, politics and economics.
The topics for discussion are reached by consensus, with everyone researching whatever avenue of inquiry appeals to them, after which we all report back on individual findings, perhaps consolidating it all into a single report, depending on the subject.
Field trips are open to any u3a Member.
