This group aims to support and encourage members to research their own family history at whatever level of experience they have reached.
When we meet as a group we consider and contribute to topics related to family history research and the social background in which our ancestors lived. Members carry out their own research and at the meetings they share their information and experiences. Members are asked to contribute at meetings as much as they can sometimes by preparing what they want to contribute.
Our topics have included finding ancestors who have emigrated, using maps to help our research, how to store our records, what occupations in the past were really like, tracing military records, telling the group about an heirloom and where it may have come from and what it means to the owner
We learn from each other. We have an opportunity to consult each other for help while we enjoy our coffee or tea.
New members are always welcome. Please contact Mary for further information.
1-1 help is also available on request outside of the meetings as this can be too difficult to do in detail when we are together as a group.
There is no meeting in August 2019.
I look forward to meeting any family history enthusiasts.
