Art And Craft Groups
Within Cheddar Valley U3A there are several special-interest groups dedicated to arts and crafts. Please see the main "GROUPS" page of this website to find the days that Groups meet.
ART GROUP
We are a group of amateurs who meet together during autumn and winter at the Scout Hut in Wedmore on the fourth Friday morning each the month. In summer we meet outside at various venues, that have included local farms and Uphill boatyard. We do not have an art teacher but share our expertise and ideas. We welcome new members to come and join us. We all have different preferences and abilities. Sometimes we agree to try a new medium or skill but some members prefer to do their own thing. Occasionally members suggest topics or lead sessions. We enjoy sharing our successes and discussing our less successful efforts.
CARDAHOLICS GROUP (GREETINGS CARDS)
The Cardaholics Group is for people who want to design and make their own greetings cards. .
LACEMAKING GROUP
The Lacemaking Group is a relatively new Group. Good progress is being made by newcomers to the craft, and those who are revisiting a previous hobby are settling back into the swing of things. We have received a very kind donation of bobbins and equipment for the Lacemaking Group, which has been very much appreciated. Please note there are still vacancies in this group if you would like to give it a try.
PATCHWORK GROUP
Members of the Patchwork Group sometimes work on individual projects and at other times they work on a group project.
STAINED GLASS GROUP
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm in the Studio at the Arts Quarter in Cheddar. Contact Margaret F for further details.
