A group of 10 very enthusiastic family history researchers meet approximately every 6 weeks on a Wednesday morning. Currently the meetings are held in the home of one of the members.
The meetings are very informal and are based on sharing research, information, experiences and methods to record and expand our findings. In December there was a guided tour of both General Register House and New Register House to see where all the old Scottish Records of births, deaths and marriages are stored. A further visit to see the same records stored electronically and how to access them is being planned.
There has been much interest in research related to ancestors’ experiences during World War 1.
This is a very relaxed and friendly group where we enjoy sharing the successes and frustrations of family history research.
