Church Stretton

Art – Drawing and Painting

The Art Group is thriving and is currently fully subscribed. Although originally a beginners group we have become much more than that, with artists of many different talents and at different stages of their artistic journey.

We work on different themes – landscape, still life, animals and people, as well as flowers and occasional workshops with visiting tutors. We use a wide range of media – watercolour, sometimes with ink or pastels added, pastels, coloured pencils and acrylic. We have also tried simple printing techniques. There are no set subjects and everyone works to their own agenda.

There is always a good atmosphere at our sessions, which we hold twice a month, with plenty of encouragement from each other.

The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the United Reformed Church Hall from 10am until noon. Numbers vary and range from 10 to 12 members.
