Patchwork and Quilting
We hold our own workshops at The Junction, Christ Church, every two months where we spend a peaceful afternoon sewing our projects. We are currently working on the skill of mixing patchwork with embroidery using the designs of Lynette Anderson, an Australian patchwork naive designer.
The photos show our previous topic, seminole quilting which creates a series of small, intricate patterns. This was challenging but much enjoyed by group members
At alternate meetings in a member's home, we demonstrate techniques and experiences to each other and share the results. This is an opportunity for hand sewing.
We are also able to join occasional workshops with Chess Valley U3A led by professionals patchworkers.
Ability to use a sewing machine is beneficial in this group. Experience of patchwork is not essential.
