Shakespeare on Screen
|Group Leader:||Gillian Hill|
|Meeting Venue:||The group leader's home.|
|Time:||6 pm on third Thursday of the month.|
‘Shakespeare on Screen’ is a group watching the complete series of 37 Shakespeare plays produced by the BBC between 1978 and 1985. We are watching them in approximate order of composition rather than the original production order. We started in November 2018, and all being well we should finish by Christmas 2021.
We meet once a month, early on a Thursday evening – usually the third Thursday - and after a brief introduction from a member of the group we watch the DVD of the play, with a break for a sandwich supper halfway through. The group is full, but it usually happens that a few members can’t make it, for one reason or another. So I am setting up a reserve list of interested U3A members, so that spare seats can be offered to others on an ad hoc basis. I plan to send out emails as seats become available, and allocate them to the first people to respond. If you would like to be on this reserve list, and/or the waiting list for full membership, please get in touch.
