Chorley

Long Walks

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME
The group travels to a variety of places both relatively local and up to 50 miles away. The walks are around 9 to 10 miles, but each walk has its distance posted on this site.
We leave the Chorley area at 9 am, some walks will have a walk start time.
If you want to join us let the walk leader know and they will make sure we don't start the walk without you. Travelling and fuel costs are shared. If you need a lift speak to the walk leader who will put you in touch with someone who can help.
Appropriate walking footwear and a packed lunch are essential (given our climate so are waterproofs). Please speak to the walk leader ahead of the walk day if you are unsure of your ability to do the walk
The Ramblers Association has a guidance document available regarding equipment in your rucksack https://www.ramblers.org.uk/news/blogs/2018/march/packing-your-kit.aspx
Walks organised by U3A groups automatically have public liability insurance cover, provided the walkers are U3A members. However, this is not a personal accident insurance and all members must be aware they walk at their own risk.
