Chorley

Local History

The Local History Group is open to all members. We meet at St George’s Hall at 13.30 on the 3rd Monday in the month. (There are no meetings in August, December and April.)

Topics are related to Chorley and the wider locality covering Lancashire and towards Bolton and Wigan. We have a speaker at each meeting and usually there is some time for questions and discussion. We finish no later than 3pm. The cost is usually £2 per meeting (correct as at July 2022) which covers the costs of Hall hire and any speaker expenses.

Once a year we try to organise a day trip out. This is normally within a 1 and a half hour drive. In July the trip chosen was to Shibden Hall.
