Discovering Nature

The natural world is fascinating and diverse with so much to learn and appreciate -and as Mind, the mental health charity, says: “Spending time in green space or bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing.”

This new group will visit the many local nature reserves and wildlife habitats in our area to observe and record all types of flora and fauna. We will also have one-hour-long indoor meetings with guest speakers and discussions, during the winter months (November to February; NO meeting in December, venue and charge to be confirmed).

It is planned to create a WhatsApp group for members to post pictures and ask for help in identification of what they have seen, if needed -and given the range of species in Chorley and district, it probably will be!

The first meeting of the group will be on Thursday October 12th 2023, meeting at 10am at Café Ambio in Astley Park. The plan then is to meet on the 2nd Thursday of every month.
