Gardening

STOCK PRESS - Click on the Link for the Programme of Visits for this Summer
A variety of garden visits organised for the coming months culminating in a trip to Kew gardens in the Autumn.
Where possible the visits are on the third Wednesday of the month, but in some cases the date had to be changed.

Subscriptions
We are having a Subscription holiday this year, as last year’s Gardening Group subscriptions were only just paid into the bank when lockdown happened, in March 2020.

Chinnor U3A Gardening Group now has 120 members
We are active throughout the year, and meet on the third Wednesday of the month and like most gardening activities, we have two distinct seasons

Summer
During the summer months, we organise visits to various gardens within driving distance. Most of these gardens cannot take large numbers of visitors, and so the group is divided into two halves, Morning and Afternoon, visiting the same garden on the same day. Morning group is from 10.30 until 12.00 and the afternoon group from 14.30 and 16.00. Payment for these visits is made on the day, on arrival at the venue.

We also organise two or three coach visits, which are always very popular and are booked on a first come, first serve basis. Coaches are usually 51 seaters and places are taken up very quickly.

Winter
During the winter months, we usually meet on the third Wednesday of the month in the Chinnor Scout Hut. We have a speaker at each of these meetings and they are chosen for their particular gardening experience and knowledge. Doors open at 10.00 for coffee and tea and the talk starts at around 10.30. The cost of these meetings is covered by the annual subscription.

Visits
These are paid for on the day unless it is a coach trip when prepayment is required on booking.
