This group is for recreational walking for older people but is not for ‘serious striders’. Generally, we meet on the fourth Monday of every month.
We tend to be fair weather walkers, enjoying the views, so walks may be cancelled due to inclement weather. The final decision is made by the leader of the walk, taking into account the weather forecast and the terrain. The group is organised by e-mail and each month is led by a different volunteer leader.

Please note Walks organised by U3A groups automatically receive Public Liability Insurance cover, provided the Leaders are U3A members, through the Third Age Trust. This is designed to protect Leaders against claims for damage to property and for injury or death which might have been occasioned on the walk. This is NOT a personal accident insurance and accordingly participants on walks are responsible for their own Health and Safety and safekeeping of their equipment, clothes and belongings.
Members are advised to wear suitable footwear - walking boots or walking shoes. Weatherproof clothing and liquid refreshment should be carried.
Please contact the Leader if you wish to bring your dog. Dogs must be kept under close control at all times.
Visitors may take one walk, but will be expected to join U3A to take part in further walks.
