Jazz Appreciation

The U3A Jazz Appreciation group normally meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at 2.30pm (or 2.00pm in the winter). The next meeting will be on September 28th after the summer recess. Different people lead and the sessions take place in the houses of members. Recent topics include Third Stream (fusion of jazz and classical music), recordings of music written by W C Handy, US West Coast Jazz featuring Gerry Mulligan, and Boogie-Woogie. After half time refreshments we often play CDs that members have brought and want to share. The afternoon lasts about 2 hours and those attending are asked for a 50p contribution.

We have space for several new members so why not give us a try. You will find a warm welcome and all jazz tastes are catered for.

If you are interested in joining this group please ask a committee member at a Coffee morning, or send enquiry via the “Contact” page.
