The Special General Meeting of 2nd July passed the resolution to adopt the new constitution for Chester U3A. Many thanks to all the members who attended and enabled us to be quorate.

A Special General Meeting has been called by the committee to seek approval from Chester U3A members to adopt a new constitution for Chester U3A, prior to submission to the Charity Commission.

Proposed by Chester U3A committee:

To adopt a new constitution for Chester U3A, an unincorporated members association, and a member of The Third Age Trust

This constitution will replace in whole the previous constitution formally adopted on 6th November 2007

In November 2018 Chester U3A members approved the adoption of a new object clause prior to adoption at the next SGM/AGM. This SGM will be held to fulfil this commitment and to update the 2007 constitution, as recommended by the Trust, and in line with Charity Commission requirements.
