“Mapping our Local Wildlife” – an illustrated talk by Adam Rowe, Manager of the Biodiversity Records Centre, Pontyclun. Learn how to turn your own wildlife sightings into biological records and be part of something important! All wildlife enthusiasts can help with the vital work of monitoring how our local wildlife is doing.

Renew your Concessionary WELSH Bus Pass
This will HAVE to be renewed before 31st December this year - your existing one will not work after this date.

First make sure that you know the following:

  • the 19-digit card number printed on the front of your Welsh bus pass
  • your date of birth
  • the postcode your current card is registered to
  • your National Insurance number (on pension statements, disability statements or payslips)
  • The council where you pay your Council Tax (find it on your Council Tax bill)
  • A new digital passport photo but only if you don't like your old one

Then click on Bus Pass Renewal to go to the web site. It will take about 10 minutes for you fill in all the details

“Dippers in the Wye Valley” - an illustrated talk by Stephanie Tyler, County Recorder and Vice-President of the Gwent Wildlife Trust. Steph’s many years of work with Dippers is well known locally and, since it was featured on TV last year, Nationally too!

“The Gwent Living Levels Project” an illustrated talk by Gavin Jones. The protection of the Gwent Levels is vital on so many counts; for wildlife of course, but also for local history and communities. This important project for the Gwent Wildlife Trust involves working in partnership with other groups locally and a fleet of volunteers across many disciplines.

"Focus on Nature - a Wildlife Photographer's Year"- an illustrated talk by Chris Hatch, Vice-President of the Gwent Wildlife Trust. Chris always has beautiful photographs to share and not only that, he has wonderful stories to tell about all kinds of wildlife.

ANNUAL PLANT SALE at the Palmer Community Centre, Cormeilles Square, Chepstow. Free entry.
The Gwent Wildlife Trust’s Chepstow Group will again be hosting their ever-popular Annual Grand Plant Sale and Bazaar. All excellent value, there will be a wide range of small shrubs and perennial garden plants, with annuals and vegetable plants also available. Plus experienced gardeners on hand to advise!
