Membership

Membership is open to anyone of the Third Age - i.e. people who are retired or semi-retired.

If you would like to join Chelmsford u3a complete the Membership Application Form by clicking on the Link. It can be filled in online, saved and emailed, or printed and posted to the address as given on the form.

The 'full member' subscription includes a fee (currently £4) paid to our parent body, the Third Age Trust. This covers the cost of a quarterly magazine posted to your home address (Third Age Matters), plus items such as insurance cover for u3a events. If you already belong to another u3a (to which you pay full membership), then you can join Chelmsford u3a as an affiliated member. We will not share your details with any other organisation.

Attendance at any of our regular monthly meetings (with refreshments) are included in your membership. Attendance at special events or interest groups will only incur charges to cover costs. We will update you with reminders of special events by email.

Our membership year runs from 1st March to the end of February every year. Renewal reminders are sent from late February. We hope that you will enjoy belonging to Chelmsford u3a.

Membership cards
The card issued to you when you join is for life. Please bring your card whenever you attend Meetings. Unfortunately if you lose your card we need to charge £3 to replace it.
