Researching family history is one of Britain's most popular pastimes. Essentially, it’s the study of families and the tracing of their lineages and history. Thanks to the internet it has never been easier to reach back in time and explore the world of your ancestors. Furthermore, thinking about your ancestors can give a stronger sense of identity and self-esteem.
It can be tempting to dive straight in and search for a particular ancestor but this tends to produce a lot of results which can be very confusing. So it’s best to start with yourself and then work backwards, finding proof that connects each generation together.
The members of this group are at different stages of learning about family history. Some have been researching for a year or two and others haven't even begun to build a family tree yet. Each month we learn something new through tutorials, talks, case studies or watching genealogy videos. So what are you waiting for? Get in touch with me today and I'll send you the link to our next meeting.
