Holiday 2019

Next year's holiday is to Shropshire and the Welsh Marches - a five day break leaving on Thursday, 16th May and returning on Monday, 20th May 2019.

We will be based at the Park Inn by Radisson in Telford which is a modern hotel with indoor pool, sauna and gym and is within walking distance of Telford. This holiday is again arranged by Bakers Dolphin.

Provisional Itinerary -

Thursday - travel from Cheddar making a stop at Tewkesbury before arriving at the hotel. We will stay here for four nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Friday - Ironbridge Gorge where the world's first iron bridge forms the centre of this World Heritage Site. We will visit Blists Hill and the Victorian Town - there will be plenty of time to explore before heading to the Coalport China Museum.

Saturday - A choice today. We will travel to Shrewsbury where you can spend the day or you can visit Powis Castle near Welshpool - a National Trust property with beautiful gardens. In the afternoon we will return to Shrewsbury for some free time before going back to the hotel

Sunday - We will visit Ludlow before making the scenic journey on the Severn Valley Railway. Visits will also be made to Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.

Monday - After breakfast we depart for home stopping en route at Hanbury Hall and Gardens in Droitwich.

The cost of this holiday is a maximum of £409 per person. (6 single rooms have been allocated and a single supplement will apply). Entry to Blists Hill, Coalport China Museum and travel on the Severn Valley Railway is included. However, non-National Trust members will have to pay at Powis Castle and Hanbury Hall.

Full details and booking forms will be available at Cheddar Library (upstairs) on Monday mornings between 10.30 am and 12.00 noon.
