Creative Writing and Reading Creatively
We are a small relaxed self-supporting group who meet monthly. We determine the titles of our writing (some 800 - 1000 words), which we do at home and bring to the next meeting to read to our friends for gentle comments and suggestions. Sometimes we do spontaneous writing using artefacts for inspiration - ever an enjoyable challenge and although we do not include poetry we have enjoyed writing Haikus, traditional Japanese three lined poetry, with the first and last lines comprising five syllables and the middle seven and rarely rhyming. Good brain food!
At the moment we are experiencing a warm glow after researching and writing some 30 plus stories for the recently published and well received Chatteris In Myth and Memory - Art through Storytelling book.
Although we have no vacancies at the moment as our existing activities take up the entire two hour session, there is the opportunity to join a waiting list and if you would like to start your own group I would be delighted to give some initial start up guidance.
