Cestria U3A at Chester-Le-Street is a Registered Charity Number 1163334. We are a friendly group of about 200 members. Our meetings are on the first Wednesday of every month in Cornerstones Methodist Church, North Burns, Chester le Street. Access is via the ramp on the left hand side of the building on North Burns.
The doors open from 9.30am for a chat and a coffee in the Walter Best Room before we move into the chapel at 10.00am for the main meeting with our guest speaker.
Throughout the month there are regular activities and visits with the opportunity to make new friends and develop new areas of interest.
Any member can start a new interest group, so it's a great place to share your own interests, knowledge, and experience with others. Who Can Join?
Anyone who is no longer in full time employment. We have no upper or lower age limits; the only other pre-requisite is the love of learning and meeting like-minded people. The U3A neither requires nor awards any qualifications. It is an opportunity to make new friends and explore new areas of interest.
How to Join
The easiest way to join is to come to one of our monthly meetings or you can download a membership form by clicking here Membership Form and bringing it with you to the next meeting. Payment details are on the membership form
New/potential members are allowed to come twice before joining.
Annual membership costs £15 per person and is renewable on the 1st January.
There is an admission fee to our monthly meeting of £2 per person. There is no charge for potential new members.
You will find the registration desk at the entrance to the church where our Membership Secretary will give you details of membership.
