Group 1WhenMonthly, Friday a.m.
WhereOld Coulsdon

Group 2 Tuesday p. m.

The Psychology group meets in the morning of the 3rd Friday in each month in a member's house usually in Coulsdon. At present the group is full but a number of new U3A members have expressed interest and a new group has started.

The original group uses a basic text book to stimulate discussion and learning and has also looked at relevant DVDs. Members bring their own knowledge and experiences to the group resulting in a lively discussion at every meeting.

Subjects discussed include: Inheritance and Behaviour; Child development; Intelligence; Communication; Emotion; Abnormal Psychology and Social Pressure.

A second Psychology group has been formed recently, which meets on the third Tuesday each month in the afternoon. The group starts their meeting with tea and cakes, and then holds a discussion about a chapter in a textbook which members read between meetings. The discussion are quite light hearted, and the focus is on members enjoyment, although with an underlying subject focus. The group welcomes new members - details from the Groups co-ordinator.
