Membership

Our membership year runs from 1st June to 31st May. The amount that you pay in your first year as a new member depends on the month that you join.

Members renewing their membership normally pay the full yearly rate irrespective of the time of re-joining. However due to the disruptions this year, members renewing after 1st December 2021 will only pay the 6 month rate of £6.50.

Associate membership is for those who have already paid a full subscription to another u3a in the current year (you will need to provide proof of your current full membership at your home u3a).

GIFT AID
If you are a UK tax payer, you may let Carlton & Gedling u3a claim for Gift Aid relief on your subscription. On a full £10 Individual membership this equates to £2.50. If you would like Carlton & Gedling u3a to benefit from Gift Aid relief, please tick the Gift Aid declaration box on your membership application form.

A) HOW TO JOIN CARLTON & GEDLING u3a AS A NEW MEMBER

You may join by one of the following methods:-

1) Online using a Credit Card, Debit Card or a PayPal account

2) In person at a GENERAL MEETING
You can sign up as a member at any monthly General Meeting.

You have the option to download an application form by clicking Membership Application Form 2021 - 2022 and fill it in before going to the meeting. We accept cash but it does help us if you can pay by cheque.

3) Postal Application
Download an application form by clicking Membership Application Form 2021 - 2022, fill it in and send with a cheque to the Membership Secretary. For details of the address to post to, please send a message to the Membership Secretary via the Contact page or ring 0796 046 1942.

B) HOW TO RENEW IF YOU ARE A CURRENT MEMBER

If you are a current member, you may renew your membership from by one of the following methods:-

1) Online using a Credit Card, Debit Card or a PayPal account
You may renew online 8 weeks either side of the start of the membership year (6th April to July 27th). If you live at the same address as another member you may renew together - unless you are both tax payers claiming Gift Aid relief on both subscriptions, in which case you should do the renewals separately.

2) In person at a GENERAL MEETING
A pre-printed renewal form will be waiting for you - please check the details, making sure that all the information is up-to-date, before adding your signature. We accept cash but it does help us if you can pay by cheque.

3) Send a cheque to the Membership Secretary

C) HOW TO RE-JOIN IF YOU ARE A FORMER MEMBER

If you were a member in the Membership Year June 2019 to May 2020 who didn’t renew in June 2020 and you wish to re-join, please send a message to the Membership Secretary via the Contact page or ring 0796 046 1942. Please do not attempt to re-join or renew online.

If you were not a member in the Membership Year June 2019 to May 2020, please apply for a new membership by one of the methods described in section A) above.
