APRIL MEETING
At our April meeting, it was nice to see people enjoying various card and board games. I brought a compendium of games and Brian and I played chess.

Also available in the box are the following - Backgammon, Chinese Chequers, Dominoes, Draughts, Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, plus seven other lesser known games. I also have a book with 101 card games in.

Members are of course welcome to bring any game we can play within the two hours. I would like to introduce new card and board games and I hope you will support me in this and try one or two new games during the afternoon.

Our next meeting will be on Wed 4th May at 2pm at the Willowbrook and I look forward to seeing you there.

BRIDGE REFERENCE GUIDES
These following guides have been created to help your understanding of various aspects of the game of bridge. They can be used to teach yourself the fundamentals of bridge or just as a handy reference when you want to check a specific topic.

Acol Bidding Notes
The Acol Bidding Notes provide a guide to the meaning of the most frequently used bids and explain the strategy behind the bidding process. There is also a section on choosing the best opening lead. The notes are divided into very short chapters that can be studied in isolation to help with the understanding of specific areas of the game, rather than trying to learn everything in one go.

Acol Crib Sheets
The 4 Crib Sheets (links top right) summarise the more frequently used Acol bids in tabular form. The tables can be printed off and referred to whilst playing in friendly games, rather than trying to commit everything to memory.

Glossary of Bridge Terms
The Glossary of Terms is a dictionary of the terms used in the game of bridge.

Rubber Bridge Scoring
The Rubber Bridge Scoring provides an explanation of how to score at Rubber Bridge, along with an example score sheet.
