Canvey Island U3A formed in April 2011 and is aimed at retired and semi retired people in their Third Age.
The U3A is a charity whose adage is "LEARN, LAUGH, LIVE".
Canvey Island U3A membership is open to any retired or semi-retired person who wishes to join us, promoting the ethos of the U3A organisation that it is “Open to all”. There are no restrictions and no Waiting List, our door is open all the time and everyone in our Castle Point catchment area is welcome!
The Charitable Purpose of Canvey Island U3A is:
The advancement of education and, in particular, the education of older people and those who are retired from full time work, by all means including associated activities conducive to learning and personal development, who are residing in Canvey Island and its surrounding locality.
Our aim is to form self motivated groups learning from each others expertise and experiences. We have groups covering many subjects, with scope for many more. Take a look at our Groups page to see what we have organised to date.
