Renewals

Renewals for 2024

Three options are available for you to renew your membership in 2024.

  • You can pay by Bank Transfer BACS (preferred) LLoyds Bank 30-91-60 a/c 01316294 using as the payment reference your membership number and postcode,
  • or send a Cheque for £20 per person made payable to u3a Canterbury and District to Mr J Wetherell and Ms E Arrow 23 Frencham Close Canterbury, Kent CT2 7DS. Please write on the back of the cheque your membership number and postcode.
  • or pay online as described below.

Whichever method you choose, if you have not previously signed up for us to claim Gift Aid from HMRC on your subscription, and you are a UK taxpayer; why not sign up now? All you have to do is read the conditions on the Gift Aid Application form on this link Gift Aid Form, print the form and add your name and address, then email it or post it to the Membership Secretary (membership@u3aCanterbury.org.uk) at the address given above.

Paying online

This is done by logging to the Members’ Portal on our Beacon database system.

First make sure that you have the following identification details to hand ready to type them into the system. Please type carefully as the system is case sensitive.

  • Your 4-digit membership number.
  • Forename.
  • SURNAME - this must be typed in UPPER CASE letters (capital letters).
  • Postcode.
  • email address

You will need your credit card details also. Payment is made via the company PayPal. Your credit card details are not stored in our own local database.
Please note: You cannot use the course booking payment system 'Stripe' for this purpose.
You will supply your credit card details to PayPal. They take the money and pass it on to us via our Beacon system. You do not need an account with PayPal although you can use yours if you do have one. To pay without an account, when you are on the PayPal webpage click the button marked Pay by debit/credit card. If your payment is successful, you will receive an email from PayPal. You will also receive one from our Beacon system with your membership card included. It is useful to print that out.
Up to 16th March you can renew by following this link to the Members Portal on the Beacon system. Online payment must be received by 16th March.

Please note: if you do not renew by the 16th March, you will not be invited to the AGM on the 10th of April. This is because the invitations (and papers) for the AGM will be sent out on the 19th or 20th of March.
