Joining your first Zoom meeting
This message is for people who have signed up for one of our U3A meetings by Zoom but who have never joined a Zoom meeting before. Doing some preparation a few days before the meeting will help you to join successfully on the day.
Getting ready
You will need a computer or device with a webcam and microphone. This could be a desktop computer, a laptop, a tablet such as an iPad, or a smart phone.
Your computer will also need to have some software downloaded onto it. A good way to get this done is to join a test meeting provided by Zoom. Click on this link and follow the instructions.

If you joined that meeting successfully you are now ready to join other Zoom meetings.
If you had any problems then email Web Master giving your name and phone number and we will get back to you. This must be done well before the meeting you want to join. We cannot give help on the day because there will not be time and it will be stressful for us all.
Joining the meeting
Because you have registered, you will receive an email invitation to the meeting. Within that email is the phrase Join Zoom Meeting followed by a blue link. Clicking on that link is the way to get into the meeting.
