Cambourne & District

Groups

Cambourne and District U3a is still relatively new, but we already have a number of groups up and running! If you have signed up at a meeting for information about any course, you will be contacted shortly - via email if you have given us your email address, or by phone.

(Note that giving us your email address or phone number on your membership application or a survey form is taken as permission to contact you by these means for the purpose of running the U3A, but we will not use it for other purposes. If you wish to change or remove your email address or your phone number(s), please contact us via the 'general enquiry' form on the contact page.)

Who can attend our group meetings?

All the groups are open to all members, subject to room, and skill levels where appropriate - an Intermediate-level language group or higher will assume a certain skill in the language, for example. In general, the groups are not open to outsiders, including members of other U3As (except where they are also current members of our U3A, of course), since our insurance policy would be in jeopardy. (See the Insurance FAQs, especially section 3.9 "Can non-members attend u3a events?", if you are interested.) Of course, non-members are welcome to our open days, and some groups allow non-members to attend 'taster sessions' by prior arrangement.

If you are interested in joining a particular group, then please do...

Get in touch

New Groups

There are some other potential groups in which people have expressed interest, but for which we don't yet have a facilitator/group leader. These include

  • British and European History of the 20th Century.
  • Chess
  • Painting
  • Table Tennis
  • Victorian History
  • Wildlife Walks
  • Wine Tasting
  • Yoga

Are you interested in starting a new group? If so, please get in touch with the Groups co-ordinator!

Meeting Times

Unless stated otherwise in the descriptions, morning group meetings normally start at 10:00 am, and afternoon meetings at 2:00 pm.

Please remember that - as mentioned above - to take part in any of our groups, you must be a current member of the Cambourne & District U3A; please bring your membership card with you (either a printed version, or a copy on your phone).
