Craft & Textile Group
----- Meets monthly on the 1st Wednesday, usually from 2.00 - 4.00 p.m. at the Gabriel Hale room at the Methodist Church, but some meetings vary.
Most months we try out a different activity, technique or craft, though sometimes we continue the same theme for two or three meetings. We have made felt, painted on silk, made papier mache bowls, experimented with different types of printing and stitching, made Kumihimo braids to name but a few of our activities.
We have begun 2023 by having a go at Boro - a Japanese form of stitching and patchwork that encompasses the spirit of reusing, recycling and visible mending. We shall continue the work we have started at our meeting on March 1st.
If you would like to come and join us, or just come along and get a feel for what we do, please get in touch with Group Leader Pauline, using the blue bird on this page.
