Quiz Group
The Quiz group meets on the third Tuesday morning of each month in the Lister Hall, Chantry Centre, Dursley and is presented by the Group Leader and Quizmaster John Walton.
Doors open at 9:30 am for a 10am start; we aim to finish between 12 and 12:30 pm. The basic format will be 6 rounds of 10 questions each. Round 6 will always be General Knowledge; I try to make Round 1 topical and the remaining 4 rounds are subject related in some way. None of our questions are taken from the specialist internet quiz sites – all questions are drafted by the Group Leader to suit the audience. There is an “Open” round of 20 pictures/questions which will be marked at the end. There will also be a joker round. No-one should be afraid of not being clever enough – there is something for everyone and singles are most welcome. The format is informal, so you can sit with friends or be introduced to new ones in true u3a style so why not give it a try. Subs are £2.00 per person per session. Please note that we won’t be providing refreshments but feel free to bring drinks/snacks with you if you so wish. There is a “comfort break” after Round 3.
