Meetings are usually held in the Council Chamber room at the Town Hall on the 3rd Friday of every month at 2pm.
We read a variety of books both Fiction and Non-fiction, which are chosen from a list supplied by the library service. Sometimes we are offered a set that we haven't asked for, which widens our knowledge of authors.
At the meeting we take it in turns to give our opinion on the book (from many different angles) and usually talk about issues raised in the book. It's all very lighthearted and at times surprising!!
We finish off with tea/coffee and biscuits, and more chatting.
We have at least one visit to a local book festival. (Usually "Way with Words" at Dartington). We have also visited the "Chagford" Literary Festival where we listened as Patrick Gale discussed his latest book "A Place called Winter", he then took so many questions from the floor the host had to remind us it was time to leave to make way for the next speaker.
