Geology (Dunblane)

GEOLOGY GROUP

At the moment I don't intend to offer classes this Autumn, 2021. However, I can supply the following information about the Geology unit.
The u3a Geology Classes are held in Dunblane. They consist of a small group of people, up to a maximum of eight (pre-Covid numbers) gathered in an informal setting in the dining room of the class tutor. The syllabus explores a wide range of topics and there are usually eight meetings over the autumn and winter. The presentation is in the form of flip-chart notes and diagrams, along with relevant hand specimens, maps, handouts and such like. Each session lasts two hours (10:00 a.m. until 12 noon), with a coffee break halfway. Class members are encouraged to bring along rock, mineral or fossil specimens from their travels for identification and discussion.

I hope this gives a flavour of what is on offer, but if you would like further information or more detail, please contact Jim Leddy via the form at the bottom of the CONTACT page.
