UPDATE for 2023
Poetry Group
This year sees the Poetry Group meeting on the second Tuesday of each month from 2 - 4 p.m. at Trust Housing in Callander, where we have comfortable and quiet surroundings for our poetry readings. The cost is 50p per person per meeting, paid on the day. We make our own refreshments at the end of the meeting.
Subjects for each following meeting are agreed on the day, giving members a month to search out two or three poems to read out. Lively chat is always initiated by our choices and the afternoon passes all too quickly. A summary of the poems is sent out to all members, to include anyone who is unable to attend on the day. You can see an example of the type of material that we use in by clicking on Ships and Boats in the right-hand column.
Our new session began with several new members which led to a full house and lively meeting, reading poems about Working Folk and finishing off with a short sing-song. Unfortunately, this means that this group now fills the available space at Trust Housing and also limits each member to reading just one poem if we are to make time for a tea break during the afternoon. With regret, I also have to say that this group is not open to any more new members at the moment.
Further information is available from the group leader: Marguerite Kobs.
