Programme for 2018

The group meets on the first Friday in each month at 2.30pm in the Buxton Library Study/Meetings Room

Friday 5th January – No meeting

Friday, 2ND February – Open Discussion – All
An opportunity to ask questions, seek help or talk about some aspect of family history

Friday, 2nd March – ‘Bread and Heaven ‘-a talk by Sue Taylor.
Sue will talk about her book subtitled ‘a family chronicle from the Rhondda Valley ‘

Friday, 6th April – Visit to Matlock Records Office- John Cassidy

Friday, 4th May –Photographic Family Records- All
Bring along your favourite Family photographs and talk about them. Remember these could be of people places or objects

Friday, 1st June- FH Computer Software Packages- John Sherratt
John will introduce and demonstrate FH software packages, Contributions from all will be welcomed

Friday, 6th July – DNA – Genetic Genealogy-Nigel Gee
Nigel will lead a discussion on the value of DNA profiling. Please come forward with your data if you have it

Friday, 3rd August- No meeting Summer Break

Friday, 7th September- Western Front Battle Fields-Peter Copley

Friday, 5th October –Oral History – John Coulter
Members will talk to John about their memories of School life

Friday, 2nd November - Family History Quiz- Ian Taylor
Ian will again amuse us and test our knowledge of Family History

Friday 7th December- Christmas celebrations.
