Buxton & District

Science

This group is for anyone with an interest in science whether or not they have a scientific background.    Don’t worry if you haven’t had a scientific education or it was a long time ago.  The only requirement is an interest in learning about science and technology issues which affect all of us.  The aim is to discuss topics in a way that the experts can help the non-experts to understand the issues. Many of the most interesting and searching questions come from the non-scientists

The group meets monthly except for August, September and December. We have a rich mix of people with experience right across the sciences and technology so most of our discussions are led by group members with occasional outside speakers.    We also arrange visits to scientific establishments and museums.
