We enjoy lively afternoons together investigating the life of famous people, discovering why some places in Germany are important, laughing at German jokes and reading well known poems. Three of us entered a translating competition and even won a prize and we are all very proud of this achievement.
Hansel and Gretel was the first story we read. We have followed the footsteps of Albert Schweitzer from his childhood into the jungle of Lambarene. We have met Goethe and his numerous love affairs and had sympathy with an overworked Easter Bunny. Our programme also includes the Pied Piper of Hameln, Albert Einstein and the Rhine Valley. Most important are our conversations on whatever subject we wish to discuss.
