Malcolm Nelson worked for forty years for HM Customs & Excise. He was involved in every aspect of catching smugglers. He was mainly based at Heathrow Airport. Tue Feb 16th Monthly Meeting - On Zoom - 10am. Musical and Poetic Entertainment by the well known Fools Gold Duo.

Tue Apr 6th Monthly Meeting - "On Zoom" - 10am The Speaker will be Edward Cafnor-Dumas on the subject of "Writing for TV Drama to Conflict Management"

About the Speaker

For twenty years Eddy Canfor-Dumas worked as a TV drama scriptwriter. His credits include The Bill, Kavanagh QC, Wycliffe and the BAFTA nominated Pompeii: The Last Day.

But the events of 9/11 took him down another path – into war, peace and conflict management. He set up the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Conflict Issues, found himself in places as far-flung as the foothills of the Andes, the forests of Gambia and Baghdad's Green Zone, and spent four years working with the British Army on how to prevent violent conflict – without violence.

In this talk, richly illustrated with his own photographs, Eddy recounts the whys, the wheres and the whose of his journey 'From TV drama to conflict management'.
