Wedlocked – Women, know your place!: Most women in the past had few choices about life and marriage partners. Usually they found themselves ‘owned’ by, or in positions of, dependence on a man; father, husband, brother, guardian.
This is the story of how some came up with drastic and novel solutions when this arrangement went wrong, displaying remarkable strength and resilience in a society whose attitudes and laws were weighed against them.

During the Cold War between East and West we spotlight the events of September 1978 when Bulgarian dissident Georghi Markov was injected in the leg with the deadly toxin called Ricin as he walked to work along Waterloo Bridge. He died 4 days later.
This was an episode of espionage that shocked the whole world 43 years ago and will be remembered by a mature audience. We examine the reasons why his Countries Government wanted him silenced and who was responsible for this tragic act of assassination. We name the official suspect and ask if it is too late for justice to prevail.
