Monthly Meetings Detail

Monthly Meetings

On the 2nd Tuesday of every month we hold our monthly meeting at which we have a guest speaker, except for our Annual General Meeting in August 2019 and our Christmas meeting in December 2019 ( see below)

The meetings are followed by refreshments, tea/coffee and biscuits. Members can socialise, sign up for Groups and generally enjoy themselves chatting to friends and sharing experiences. Many of the Group coordinators are also present and members thinking about joining a group often take the opportunity to find more about the Group from its' coordinator in person. Members are also able to speak to any member of the committee in person as our Committee members attend the meetings whenever possible

The meetings start at 1.45 pm and members are asked to be seated in good time as late arrivals make it difficult for those sitting near the entrance to hear the announcements, and latecomers disrupt proceedings whilst taking their seats.

The meetings are held at
Burton Joyce and Bulcote Village Hall

Visitors
Visitors are always welcome at our monthly meetings to meet us in person, and find out more about us and our activities. If you do come along to one of our meetings, please make sure that you introduce yourself to one of our Welcomers, they are identifiable by their red “Welcomer” badges.

August Annual General Meeting

Our Constitution requires us to hold an Annual General Meeting, and this is traditionally held in August. We do not have a speaker at our August meeting. Instead, after the formal business we sit down and have a cream tea often accompanied by a table quiz or some other entertainment.

December Christmas Meeting

We do not have a guest speaker to celebrate the festive season. However in recent years we have been delighted by performances from the children of Burton Joyce Primary School and our own Ukelele group. And to keep our brains in focus we have scratched our heads over quizzes and dingbats whilst enjoying a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.
