Tue Nov 26th Visit to THE BELL FOUNDRY MUSEUM at Loughborough.
I have made a provisional booking for Tuesday 26 November at 1.30pm. The cost is £10 per person and we must have a minimum of 10 people.

The John Taylor Bell foundry is one of only two still in production in the UK and houses the only museum dedicated to the subject. A tour of the works and the exhibitions will allow us to follow the development in the art of English bell founding for over 600 years. The complex of buildings making up the foundry as we see it today, was built in the 1850s, and its size demonstrates the extent of the market for bells at that time. It is said that the furnaces were never cold. There is still regular casting taking place.
Because of the distance, we will try to arrange car sharing for those who would not wish to drive themselves.
