Buckhurst Hill

Welcome to Buckhurst Hill U3A

About the U3A

U3A stands for the University of the Third Age an organisation which was founded during the 1970s in France. Now world-wide, it is for people in their "Third Age" - their retirement or semi-retirement age.

The 1000th U3A opened in late 2016 and there are now more than 420,000 members in the UK. The U3A is apolitical, non-denominational, and non- profit making and is run by the members for the members.

The video at the bottom of this page will tell you more about the U3A and some of the people who belong to it.

Buckhurst Hill U3A - Charity Registration No. 1178911

Buckhurst Hill U3A is an extremely friendly group of retired, or semi-retired, people which was founded in January 2015, and continues to expand and thrive. As of November 2019, we have 31 interest groups and 259 members. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for all our members to share friendship, knowledge, skills and experiences, whilst at the same time having a lot of fun.

We meet at 2pm on the second Thursday of every month at Roding Valley Hall (RVH), Station Way, Buckhurst Hill, Essex, IG9 6LN (car parking is available on-site).
To find out more about what we do go to our Groups page or have a look at our Events page for a list of upcoming meetings and diary of events.

We always welcome visitors and new members and would encourage you to visit our Membership page for an application form to join Buckhurst Hill U3A.

Should you require further information regarding membership then please send a message to 'Membership Enquiries' on our Contact Page.
