Regional events in Sussex & South East
Members of our u3a also have the possibility of attending events organised by the Sussex u3a Network (SUN) and the wider South East Forum.
'SUN' traditionally organised monthly Study Days on Saturdays on a variety of subjects and with excellent tutors, held in different locations around the county. An annual event was also usually organised in the summer. Examples have included the Weald & Downland Museum (2017) and Arundel Wildlife Trust (2015). In 2014 all the Sussex u3as came together at Brighton University to showcase the work they had been doing related to the South Downs. The displays included history, geography, architecture, flora and fauna, photography, artworks, poetry and compositions etc, and there were also several musical contributions. A similar project on 'Sussex Spirit, Myths & Legends' culminated in an event at Sussex University in July 2019.
The South East Region organises an annual residential Summer School in Chichester in June or July each year, with a wide range of courses on offer. It also puts on the occasional day conference in different parts of the region.
