Welcome to Broxbourne U3A
Broxbourne U3A is an organisation for "third-agers" - men and women who are no longer engaged in full-time employment or child care. Members get together to share knowledge, skills and experiences with other like-minded people.
Broxbourne U3A serves the area covered by the Broxbourne Borough Council in Hertfordshire and began at the start of the new millennium in 2000. We currently have approximately 800 members, with an annual membership fee of £12.
We normally meet once a month at Spotlight (formerly the Broxbourne Civic Hall) for a meeting with a speaker. Attendance is around 300, and the opportunity is available to find out more about our interest groups, which meet throughout the month at various local venues or members' homes. Unfortunately due to the current Covid-19 pandemic Government Guidelines together with the closure of the Spotlight have meant that, of late, we have not been able to meet with the full membership. However, many of our individual interest group activities are still functioning where rules allow.
There are around 60 interest groups ranging from Art to Astronomy, Craft to Cycling, French for Beginners to French Boules, Line Dancing to London Walks, Reading for Pleasure to Rummikub, and Walking to Wine Appreciation. There's something for everyone. A warm welcome is guaranteed and you can be sure to make new friends. Please see our EVENTS and our interest GROUPS pages for more details.
If you are not yet a member, and would like to join Broxbourne U3A and take part in our activities, please come along to our next Monthly Meeting or in the interim until we can meet at the Spotlight, use the CONTACT page on this website. Some of our members can be seen on this page, waiting to welcome you!
