From Plot to Plate - Bishopsworth
What is it: A group dedicated to growing your own vegetables and fruit, then preparing or preserving your produce and finally cooking it to maximise the efforts of all your hard work. This group is aimed at enthusiastic amateur vegetable and/or fruit growers who want to learn from each other and share their knowledge, tips and experiences.
When is it: Our inaugural ‘harvest home’ meeting will take place at 2.00pm on Monday 1st October 2018. On this occasion we can agree a meeting schedule for the 2019 growing year; meeting every fortnight at 2.00pm on a Monday from March to mid-October incl. is suggested.
Where is it: The group meetings will be based at a home with a medium-sized garden in Bishopsworth; growing a wide range of vegetables, and fruit bushes and trees. It is anticipated that members might host occasional meetings at their own gardens or allotments.
At the inaugural meeting we will also discuss gathering, preserving and cooking the autumn harvest, putting the plot to ‘bed’ for the winter, end of season chores and planning for next year.
