Social History, Fishponds
What it is: This is a self taught group - we choose a topic and do individual research for participation in each meeting.
When it is: 2nd Tuesday each month, 2-3.30pm.
Where it is: Beechwood Hall, Beechwood Road, Fishponds. BS16 3TR, just off the Fishponds Road opposite Hannah More Park.
Each month the group chooses a social history topic, often, but not exclusively, related to the Bristol region. Members then research the topic in a variety of ways and report their findings to a subsequent meeting. This format has proved stimulating and effective over the past few years and we will be continuing along these lines.
There are facilities for making tea and coffee available - we don't stop for a break as such.
