Reading Group, Bishopston
What it is: Bishopston Reading Group
When it is: First Tuesday of each month from 2.00-4pm
Where it is: At The Oaks sheltered housing, Brynland Avenue.
We are a friendly group of up to 12 members which meets in sheltered accommodation to discuss books of our choice. We like a mixture of fiction, both modern and classic writers, and an occasional non-fiction such as a biography. We take it in turns to choose a book and wherever possible use Bristol libraries for our copies. Recent books have included: A Gentleman in Moscow, Olive Kitteridge, Bodies of Light, the Book thief, Take Nothing with You.
We have vacancies from time to time and operate a short waiting list.
Since lockdown we have been using Zoom to meet online at a slightly later start time of 2.30pm - contact the convenor if you would like to join us.
For further information or to contact the Group Convenor, just click on the pigeon 'send a message' link.
Contact before you come; Some steps; Free parking available on site; 2 mins uphill walk from local bus stops.
