Reading Group, Bedminster
What it is: For members who enjoy reading and sharing impressions of the book with a friendly group.
When it is: The second Monday of the month, 10.30 to 12 noon. (NB - If there is a Bank Holiday on the Monday, we count from the following Monday.)
Where it is: In the Meeting Room at Bedminster Public Library. Bring your own drink.
Reading a book is a valuable discipline to cultivate for all ages, and especially as you get older. It keeps the brain active and is, at the same time, very pleasurable.
We collectively choose what to read 3 or 4 months in advance - mainly novels - from a wide range of authors, living or dead. Sometimes these will be a translation from the original language, and nearly always paperback. We then discuss the book and our varying opinions at the next meeting.
We have no leader as such. Someone volunteers to lead the next session, usually the person who recommends the book.
