Reading a book is a valuable discipline to cultivate for all ages, and especially as you get older. It keeps the brain active and is, at the same time, very pleasurable.
We collectively choose what to read 3 or 4 months in advance - mainly novels - from a wide range of authors, usually written in English, but sometimes a translation from the original language. We then discuss the book and our varying opinions at the next meeting.
We have no leader as such, someone volunteers to lead the next session - often the person who recommends the book.
