Reading Group, Bedminster
What it is: For members who enjoy reading and sharing impressions of the book with a friendly group.
When it is: The second Monday of the month, 10.30 to 12 noon. (NB - If there is a Bank Holiday on the Monday, we count from the following Monday.)
Where it is: In the Meeting Room at Bedminster Public Library, Bedminster Parade, BS3 4QA. Bring your own drink.
Reading a book is a valuable discipline to cultivate for all ages, and especially as you get older. It keeps the brain active and is, at the same time, very pleasurable.
One month, early in the year, we bring in and summarize for the group, novels we have enjoyed and feel the group would too. We usually choose those available in paperback. From the list compiled we select one for each of the following months which we all read, and discuss at the following meeting.
We currently have no leader, but each month someone elects to lead the next session. This is usually the person who recommended that book.
