Mathematics for Pleasure
What it is: A group for those who are curious about maths.
When it is: Fortnightly on Tuesdays, 10am to noon.
Where it is: At members’ homes in rotation.
Our admission requirement is: took maths at school until sixteen; can't remember much of it now, but curious as to what it might have been about.
Accordingly we explore and re-visit many different ideas in elementary mathematics via problems or puzzles, at a level of difficulty appropriate to the group.
The size of the group is limited to ensure an all-inclusive, supportive working atmosphere. In the course of nine years there has been a steady turnover of membership - albeit at a gratifyingly slow rate. There is currently a short waiting list.
The possibility of initiating a second, similar sized group has become evident, so please get in touch if you're interested.
