Members
In between the main monthly speaker meetings there is a Members’ Afternoon. This is an opportunity for members to get together for tea and a chat but mostly these have a theme or a focus.
The Members’ Afternoon is used to allow either a group or a member to organise the event. Groups can use the time to share or ‘showcase’ their work, examples of recent member's afternoons include an exhibition by the Photography Group and a display of recreated historical nautical clothing by the Pioneer Clothing Group. More light hearted events are a quiz, a beetle drive, indoor games and an archive film show.
Annual events utilise these afternoons for a strawberry tea, a picnic get together, games on the Green and the Christmas special usually with entertainment.
