If you didn’t come on Gerald’s trip to the York Opera House in March to see ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ you missed a treat. This play is an adaptation by Richard Beane of ‘Servant of Two Masters’, a 1743 comedy play by the Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni.
It was first performed in May 2011 at the National Theatre in London and has been touring not only the UK and Ireland but also America and Australia. It has been seen by over 1 million people worldwide and is an internationally acclaimed smash-hit that is a celebration of the best of British comedy, a unique mix of satire, songs, slapstick and one-liners that had us all rolling about in agonies of laughter.
