Introducing the Photography Group.
Our weekly group membership fee is currently
£1 per week payable one month in advance.
This interest group is aimed primarily at the person who has a digital camera and who wants to learn how to take better photographs and understand the cameras controls more fully. Members of the group vary in their experience from absolute beginners to old hands who simply enjoy sharing their interest with like-minded people.
During the winter months we generally stay within the hall and practice indoor photography skills while in the warmer months we like to visit a variety of locations to practice outdoor photography such as landscapes, coastal views and other places of interest. On our occasional expeditions we share transport.
The group has a varied programme that includes displaying images on the screen of the large, wall-mounted television provided in the main hall via our dedicated computer. Using an Adobe photoshop program we also practice simple exercises such as cleaning-up old family photographs to remove scratches and creases and a variety of other computer/photography related skills. Skills such cropping photographs to give a better structured picture, straightening crooked horizons, removing red-eye from an image and generally learning how to display the photographs we have taken to the best advantage.
We aim to make sure that our group is open, welcoming and friendly to everyone regardless of their photographic knowledge. So please come along and discover how easy it is to take better photographs. All you need is a digital camera and your enthusiasm to learn.
